File it under "never say never"...

I was doing a little blog housekeeping and came across this little jewel from August 2010.

It was a list of bucket races. You know, races you would love to do someday if money, logistics or super quick sell outs weren't an issue. I created two lists, one local (and realistic) and one that is made up of dream races.

I couldn't help but smile when I re-read what I wrote back then about the number one race on my local bucket list. I am 100% certain I meant it at the time but my how things change...

1. 70.3 Augusta. I would be completely satisfied with a 70.3. An ironman? Not going to happen for me. Really.

Hope you all are having a great weekend!

guilty as charged. i believe i said the same thing about the marathon distance once upon a time.

PS, got the package and the stuff is AMAZING! I'd never tried a lot of those brands and I love them. Thank you!!

Been there done that. I said I'd never do a marathon and now I've done two :)!

That's so awesome that you pushed past your barriers though!

I never thought I'd be a runner. How's that for honesty?! I hated running in the Air Force. Tried getting into it, but nothing. Then a friend's mom died of breast cancer and I started running for her. I lost two dogs to cancer and I keep running. What's funny is I'm not good at short quick races. I don't get into a groove until mile 3 so 5Ks are out. So I've done 14 halfs and 6 fulls. Love them! Want to do the MCM sometime too!

I can assure you I have said never a triathlon for me. Of course I do still have yet to do it but the fact that I am training for one. Unreal. We can do more than we think!

Funny how things change!

Very cool! I'm starting to warm up to the idea of a marathon which previously I've had no interest in. Some day.

Love this! It's great that life continues to bring us surprises. I felt similarly about a marathon, and am now debating #2. :)

I feel that way about the marathon. I could hardly run a 5k and now I'm starting this journey to run 26.2 this summer. :)

I said that about a 70.3 too, and NOW look where that got us :)

Haha, I think I've said that about EVERY distance I've done above a 5k. No limits!!!

Haha, I feel like we all say this at one point or another!

Did you just channel Justin Beiber into your post?

LOL! It's funny how that happens isn't it? I'm still on the fence and could fall either way about a full.

However that SD race you listed in your bucket list looks fun!!! I really want to go there! And I'm seriously thinking about the Marine marathon also....if I do a full that is. :)

How exciting, we are funny how we tell ourselves...we will never, but...then we do!

Hahah that's funny!

I never would have thought in a million years that I want to run (and will) a marathon! I also never thought I would want to be an Ironman, but I hope to be in 2014!
