Sometime in early 2011 Buckeye Outdoors, the website I had been using to log my workouts, crashed. When I say crashed, it crashed big. All of my workouts were gone forever. The website was down for a while, they offered some hope that the workouts might be recovered but it never happened. Kind of a downer because I like to look back and see what I have done and how I have improved. I picked up the shattered pieces of my training log and moved on to what turned out to be a better place. A place with friends, interaction and doughnut tracking. Really.
After the great Buckeye Outdoors crash of 2011, I turned to a couple of places to log my entries. (I am creating redundancy in fear of another website crash.) I currently use Beginner Triathlete and Daily Mile. I like to see my workouts in a calendar format so one point for Beginner Triathlete there. They also have some pretty great forums full of helpful people.
Daily Mile, on the other hand, is like facebook for athlete types. The comments and virtual high fives on your workouts, never gets old. I also like the stats on DM.
After I started logging in March of last year, I managed to log 3173 miles of swimming, biking and running which, according to DM, equals 231.65 televisions powered, 1271 doughnuts or 67 pounds burned. Crazy.
If you aren’t on Daily Mile, look me up. We can be friends. I promise to support you with unlimited virtual high fives. :)

Done! :)
I like the forums on begginer triathlete, but haven't used daily mile yet. I like that spreadsheet that I emailed you yesterday. been using it since 2009.
Added you!!! I love how it tells you how many doughnuts you burned!
I have not tried the Beginner Triathlete forum, but will try it, I do however like the Dailymile setup. Congratulations on all the miles that you have put in thus far!
Love Dailymile!
I use Daily Mile too, I just added you!
And I agree, it is definitely like facebook for athletes!
I should totally join DM! Everyone keeps telling me about it. I am just intimidated about using yet ANOTHER website. I'm on BT as well.
Do you know if DM has a mobile app?
Training software...I was just fiddling around with it. I have always used SportTracks, but now would like something web based. Training Peaks maybe? But seems like I am still wedded to a computer because of my Garmin...
People tell me to use Daily Mile but I don't need one more social network so I have resisted.
I use Running Ahead and a log of my own. I have about 8 years of log books and I like looking back at routes etc.
I should switch to daily mile, but I still love logging and tallying by hand... something fun about having those records in print. If I do join, I'll look you up!
That's a lot of donuts! I've seen the donut counter on blogs, but I'm afraid it would tempt me to eat more donuts!
I just signed up for Daily Mile to keep myself on track in 2012. I added you!
3173 miles - great job! ...and lots of doughnuts!
Great Job powering all of those tvs, and doughnuts to eat. I use to use DM, and will probably get back into again this year, but I use running2win.com to log my runs since 09 with no problems. Thanks, I will have to get back on DM. Take care.
I think we are friends? are we? let's be friends.
Added!
I'm on Daily Mile but if we are friends I wouldn't know it b/c I never use the site. My wife uses it so maybe you can be friends with her?
That being said maybe I should use it more often b/c what you just said about sites crashing is scary.
I think daily mile is how I found your blog!
And all I use is Excel :)...I feel so low tech now!
I am so far behind on blogs!!!
I use BT and would love to follow you there... My user name is Julta find me! :) I love following on with others workouts!
